Rjukan is fast becoming the mecca for winter climbing. With over 140 frozen waterfalls, it is one of the few places you can almost guarantee fantastic ice climbing from early December - end of April.

Our apartments overlook the suspension bridge over the Vemork Gorge in Våer and the infamous Vemork Heavy Water Plant, now a museum. Våer is at the top end of the Rjukan Valley and you can see some of the best climbs in the valley from the apartment windows.

There are 23 routes within walking distance of the apartments. It is one of the highest houses in Våer and from the lounge window you can see the tops of Vemorkbrufoss East & West; the climbs to the left and the right of the suspension bridge, so you are guaranteed to be there first in the morning. We are a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk from the Krochan Gorge and it is a 5 minute walk up the road to Svingfoss, the roadside climb on the way up to Krochan. There is also an awesome view of Trappfoss from the kitchen windows.
