Getting There (from UK)

Flights generally leave from Stanstead, Newcastle,Glasgow or Liverpool twice daily. If you book early enough, these can work out at around £30.00 including taxes. Try www.lowfareflights.co.uk From the Midlands we use www.ryanair.com from Stanstead which flies to Oslo Torp. You can hire a car at Oslo Torp and be in Rjukan within 2 1/2hrs. In our experience the most competitive company tends to be www.norwaydirect.co.uk

Things to do

Rjukan has much to offer in addition to awesome climbs. With an abundance of white stuff, there’s something for everyone: snowboarding, downhill and cross country skiing, dog-sledding? Trekking across the fabulous  Hardangervidda to name but a few. It is a compact town with everything you need, from supermarkets to bars and restaurants to climbing shops.  It also boasts a new leisure centre, which offers a pool, sauna and steam room where you can relax your aching muscles. Then you can finish it all off by chilling in the outdoor hot tub where you can gaze at tomorrow’s climbs.
